The picture is one of me and my daughter (Mariah Rowse, here in Author's Den also). We were walking along the path next to Elba Island near Tybee. We could see the Tybee Lighthouse from there.
The amazing sand that drifts and flows form granulated streams
It perks the ears and animates the focus of my dreams
Earthly canvas...flowing palette...tides with moving tunes
Fancy footprints...seagull cries...fences on the dunes
Shadows of this evening...streaks of marigolds
Sunsets washing golden hues...silent sighs...untold
Happiness...resounding wash...bleaching Tybee sands
Symphony of nature calls securely from her hands
Surrounding problems disappear as Tybee Lighthouse looms
The visuals here this afternoon speak volumes...whispered tunes
The greatest masters cover days with thoughtful spent arrays
They orchestrate harmony with palms that swish and sway
The tides that roar when coming in give power with each thrust
The echoes of a passing storm shock moments as light burst
Across the heavens darkness forms and generators turn
Then nature gives a light show for rhythm with a burn
The decorated heavens...before held marigolds
Just now are opened wonders as teardrops drape the cold
Consistent roads of electrons send tracers dodging stars
When spotted clouds of reservoirs open from afar
The beauty of this evening is owed to Mother Earth
For if I'd have my rathers...would be for simple worth
The wonder of a simple day with sunlit golden hues
The rain and power jerking tears from gray clouds which were blue
The colors of a masterpiece that changes everyday
Awe from me this humbled girl...who wasn't asked to play
The front row seat of mystery for the greatest show on earth
Its watching change in a day and knowing of its worth
The strategies of a storm...the roadway of time's light
The focus of a sunset ceding to a stormy night.
Excellent show! I felt as if I was right there with you...The imagery was sublime, serene, and soaked...
Enjoyed your one with nature here...

I knew when I saw this tile that it was a must. I really enjoyed this piece Susan...here is the link to another storm...do you remember Jeanne in 2004? Were you there then?
I have never experienced the pleasure of knowing this place called Tybee Island but the images you have painted in my mind allowed me to visit that beauty. Excellent work.

"The decorated heavens...before held marigolds" this is one of many beautiful images in this superb write Belle. Greater or lessor ... there is always something that crosses our paths and affects us. Peace and Colors ....

Any story or poem about a storm or just about the shore, no matter where it is, is always attractive to my senses...I want to see this Tybee Island someday, as J. Allen Wilson also writes about it & loves it...Ed

The best show there is... Your nipper kinda reminds me of someone from a shakespear film.. Much ado about nothing, kinda look..
You render Tybee Island in poetry with the same quality of finess and shadings of nuance that Ray Ellis employs when rendering it with paint upon the canvas: masterfully. What a thrill it would be to see this poem beside a painting of Tybee hanging in a galley on the island or downtown in City Market. Much gratitude for the beautiful read.
