He really is a very nice Pussy, really!!

Poem Artwork

We have a cat called Sly
short for Sylvester of stallion fame
wanna know what doth possessed us
to give him such a name?

True to his namesakes
of cartoon and boxing shows
He's like a cross tween the two
with his schemes he comes and goes

It's Rrrraooow in the morning
to come in for a feed
Rrrraoow in the evening
to go out and sow some seed

We don't bother with regular cat food
Oh no, human mackeral or bust
if he dosent get his quota
of our fish, to him we dare not trust

They have met him on occassion
though lived not to tell the tale
despite being booted into the pond
he leapt forth with but a wail

Comes to us in the morning
and  loudly yowl's "But Father"
plonks himself upon the Dad
with such fuss and palava

I've reared crazy cats all my life
he's the daftest this side of the black stump
come nightfall he sits at the door
in mind his opposition to thump

You wouldn't think him such a thug
for as a kitten his tail he would suck
till he darn near chewed the thing away
and in his throat a fur ball got stuck

Still out there somewhere's
I know there's little Sly's
when I hear them feline's yowling
amid the blackened sky's

We forgot to feed Mr Puss E. Cat
just the other day
for our trouble upon our bed
he yakked bird remains in a smelly spray!

I could've brained him on the spot
as I lifted quilt n contents to the machine
for I was feelin juuuust fine
but that sure turned me green

So that's our Cat Sylvester
who leads a double life
by day he's just a furry lug
by night...Mafia Cat causing strife!

Sly sounds like One Cool Kitty, Ch'erie - and I think each one truly has a very unique personality of their own - just like we human animals do.
