Never lie to people, because the people you are able to lie to, are the people who want to trust you ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

Poem Artwork

People lie
To suit their needs
It still amazes me daily
No conscience to be

They play with others lives
Juggling whom they decide to have
Who is the better catch
To spend an eternity with

Life should not be considered a game
Life should be about love and caring
Helping a neighbor, lending an ear
Taking care of the sick

Being a good overall round person
Yes we all lie
But, gentle lies so as not to hurt others
Perhaps a haircut they love but you don’t

We say gently, well that’s different
With a smile
I’m glad you like it
It suits you

These are gentle caring lies
So as not to spoil or hurt another
And yet some are painfully honest
Albeit we are not all the same

Still we all lie to a degree
Perhaps we feel bad, sick or hurt
But we paint a smile on our face
Others say, how are you? Okay you say

That is a lie, but not one to hurt others
You don’t want to ruin their day
So we keep that painted smile on
To bring a little sunshine to all

Think therefore what you do
When you lie
There is always a consequence
So you choose

I lie down in green pastures. ;-) Seriously, you make some good points. I'm told that women are much better at telling lies that make people feel good, than men. How we are feeling is quite relative… I often feel rotten, and then a few minutes later, feel great. I long ago gave away those trite responses and often responded to stupid questions like, "How's your liver," with equally snide reply, "Still livin'." I don't know how many times I've answered honestly to questions like that with, "Crappy" or "Not very good today."

I guess it's because I've lived long enough, been through shit, and don't appreciate trite little lies as honest answers, so I like to shock people like that. Just like you.

Regis, you are a soft, sensitive soul… I am not.

don't we all? we're so smooth at it that we don't recognize ourselves lying.

Wisdom well-shared, Carol. There is much truth expressed via your verses here. Thank you. Love and best wishes,

"I'm fine."...........I've told that lie many times so people wouldn't know the hell I was in.

Love ya!

Transcendental Sojourn-Arrival to One Journal by Liz Cosline

Explains the realizations that have given the author the views of living life fully. The life each person dreams about. You must take a look at yourself before dreams can be reached. Deciding what is the core of belief.

Future: The Spiritual Story of Humanity by Glenn Martin

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
