Remember the magic, how the hues and aroma of fall seem designed for our personal pleasure
The golden crunch like treading ankle-deep cornflakes, a granola of oak and beech sunny tulip poplar scarlet maple a sprinkling of acorns & hazelnuts back before Hazelnut was a fancy coffee flavor. The mixture liberally sprinkled my parent's 40 acres, and you could walk for miles just breathing in moss, leaves, earth and meeting no one. You could jump in the leaves even though you were 16 and no one would make fun of you, maybe Angie, protector-dog, big as a bear, would romp, too. Mom might sit on the porch with coffee, and make apple pie later. All this magic in my young autumns... Sometimes sprinkled with sugar snow like cream and sugar on the leaf-granola Just a warning to enjoy the glowing days before winter grabs tightly, refusing to budge.
