I just had to write more about what went on after that awful dream my granddaughter had. I believe in happy endings!

The charred remains Received the rains The tiny sprouts broke through Remembering their "roots" Came lots of howls and hoots Dug up acorns Squirrels adorn Landscape comes into view "Allowed" to grow again For joy of future man Jane Noponen Perinacci �

I love the hope springing out of seemingly hopeless circumstances; nature will survive even if we Earthians do not. Thank you for sharing, Jane. As I have stated in my previous review, you remind me so much of a poem that I wrote on this theme, "Afterburn." I am glad you added this sequel. Love and best wishes to you and to your granddaughter.

Rebirth and resurrection is a common theme in nature "by instinct". You have covered it well here as a follow-up poem. Fine work. John

Allowed to do her thing, mother nature always comes back better than ever. I enjoyed both poems about this dream, and hope it never comes true. Where's Smokey the Bear when you need him?

Very nice image. "Allowed" is the right word. I just wish we could get to the place where "encouraged" is more appropriate!
