Swing closer with each swipe they do
Seeing what's coming after you

You know it well it's coming fast
Next breath you take may be your last
Brocade on velvet on the floor
Stars that shine on forevermore

It's probably safe to say we all have our own personal pendulum, even though some might delude themselves into thinking they can dodge the inevitable and enigmatic metaphor.

Emotions like a pendulum,
cut like a knife, and leave a mess.
This could surely apply to me,
when my wife is going through pms.
