Hope I am not boring you all with memories, but for me they are fun to remember and write down...

Poem Artwork

His dads old Chrysler

Had a hot motor & push button shift

Was really nice till Ed did a horse hit

Called from the local police department

And Dad said call back when you’re sober…J

Of course all and any accidents Ed had

None of which with dads car were bad

But just the thought of being killed by dad

Scared me to hell & feel worse than sad…J

Ed finally got a car of his own

Before dad did get to the point to me disown

That car was my baby too short a time

Next poem will speak of that car in rhyme…J

Hot Chrysler with a Hemi. Only thing better was the Forward Look. Had two 57 DeSoto Firedomes with push button trannies and hemis. First, rusted out, the second, pristine California car.

My Dad had to ask me how fast his 57 Fairlane 500 was. Fast enough to win many drag races. Bought it back from a school teacher at 60,000 miles, only to give it up after paralyzed for the easy-to-drive DeSoto in 1965.

My first car was a Studebake Grand Tourism (the one with the sun-roof covered by soft stuff that made a racket driving at 110mph)8 cyl.V motor, and more horses than an Army cavalry unit. The back seat was kind of king size if you know what I mean...

Memories are so sweet. And the first car one ever drove (no matter how bad a driver they were, is something always to be remembered and treasured) Beautiful.

What a beautiful car, Ed! I remember my Dad's Chevy station wagon - all five of us kids would nearly get into a fight, wondering who was going to ride in the very back ... Karen and my brother and I would usually win. :) Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
