Poem Artwork

Jerry Garcia, head of the Dead,

Only wanted to of his guitar play,

150 give or take concerts filled my head,

With visions of mushrooms & acid trips as a buffet…

A cult like figure, followed by cult like groupies,

Each year a remembrance held,

What the hell, some of us smelled,

But in happiness at each concert, all of us yelled…

Long live his memory,

Long live his music,

I for one & many others will remember,

His memory with us most strong…

Sorry I was not a fan either but if you spoke to my hubby he'd have a different story. Thanks for sharing Ed.

The Dead will never be the same. Caught their free act in a be-in in Panhandle Park one Saturday in '67.

Oh brother, remember "Dark as a Dungeon"? "where it's as dark as a dungeon, damp as the dew; danger is double, pleasures are few..."
Your elder brother ain't so elder.

Was never a big fan but I know the man had talent that will do down beside all the musical greats that went before and are still to come.

What the hell, some of us smelled...

Yeah, so what's so bad about that??!!

Long live his memory,
Long live his music.

Sincerely,
A Deadhead's Brother Ed
