I have this friend from South Carolina…

Poem Artwork

He speaks of moving to Florida,

To get away from the weather cold,

Before he does find himself too old,

I think he should do it, buying himself a business,

Maybe a nice little marina & hire me,

I think we both could avoid from there life’s stress…

Maybe something in the Florida keys,

Surrounded by water & palm trees,

Pretty much of the time with weather warmer,

And off the ocean a subtle breeze,

He may in life be happy, a better performer…

Just a little place, with dock rentals,

As well maybe a low rating boat lift,

I’ve worked in marina’s in the past,

Knowing at least the basic fundamentals,

Having transient docking spaces,

For boaters that towards the south, drift…

Hmmm ... what's a little hurricane now and then? Got tornados over here. Where'd I put that rowboat? Florida, here I come :-)

If you want to do it, go for it; personally, I'd rather go where it's cold. I love the winter time; I can't take the heat here!! The heat is too brutal!!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)

Been there and yes, got a T-shirt. Down on the Keys life is wonderful until one of those charming hurricanes kick your a**, then you think why the heck make you think that "it" was paradise when you need to rebuild everything without wages because the business Keys where wiped out.
Been there, quite a lot of times, charming in a hurricane out-season, only Papa Hemingway was crazy enough to go with "The old man & the sea"
When you come to the Keys gimme a cal and I will anchor at your marina!
