Private room Beat with a broom Alone & hiding Till adulthood biding… Molested at 4 Afraid to close a door Wasn’t necessarily poor Retreated into my own core… Took 30 years to an adult become Am I there yet or do I have to grow some It all wasn’t bad, I had some fun Some of my adulthood though I’ve been scum… © ed 6/26/09

Sad write Ed, sorry your childhood was rough
These things should never happen to anyone, let alone a child
Thoughts of childhood are supposed to bring back happy memories
I guess you will have to make your happy memories now!!

Hi Ed, I like the how you used the pic of the broom. It symbolizes the sweeping out the cobwebs of the past, and not just sweeping it under the rug, either. Good on you! Something we should all do. And writing it really helps. Thank you for sharing.

Sounds like a hard cruel childhood and if it was yours my friend my heart goes out to you for no one should have to be a child that way. I am glad you survived and I believe you are still growing as we all are and each day is a learning experience.

Tough stuff to make public but hopefully healing. We've all (well at least most of us) have done bad things. Hopefully we never repeat our serious mistakes and never stop growing because frankly, the penalty is death. Thanks for having the courage to share some real pain. Patrick
