Poem Artwork

O’er my ocean so pure

Of my stresses & strife’s, it is the cure

The beach & ocean is for me the lure,

The moon as well a part, for definitely sure…

To straddle the jetty,

While thinking of a girl named Betty

From long ago I knew her under these pilings

My virginity lost, she placed me in her filings…

I never of her forgot, when the rising moon I see

She on the other hand was lost to the sea

Her boat capsized & sunk, lost was she forever

But in memory I recall her smell

Or perhaps it was as well the salted sea

Occasionally I see her face in the moon

Or maybe in reality I am herein showing myself a loon…

A salty tale. Will take it with a grain of...

Might even moon it.

ahhh! a bit of romance to this well written piece

t'was a joy for me to have read,

The last full moon I gazed upon,

made me grow long teeth and hairy arms

woke up naked in the Park.....

Peace be with you Brother

The sights, smells and sounds of the sea seem to all enhance not only the event but the memory of the events that we carry from the past into the present and the future.

The full moon is fool of memories. Or is it the fool moon is full of memories? Anyway, the jetty, the moon, Betty, and Captain Jack and me where all together one night and....well, our clothes were washed away by the tide.

Peace,
Dayvid

... I reckon jetty and pier pilings are absolutely OVERCROWDED with such memories and ghosts, Ed... but none more special and personal than this... Your Betty of the Jetty is quite impossible to forgetty... xxx

Loon on, Buddy. I well remember who and when and where I lost my innocence, sexually that is, I'm still as innocent as the driven snow in everything else.
