A leisure day -Tanka A golden rising sun Gently touched my closed eyes Brought warmth to my room Pulled me out of my sweet dream We were nestling like the birds Summer time my dream Ripening lemon yellow fruit Spreading its fragrance Under lemon tree we sat As carefree birds all day long Stillness of the night We heard the Barn owl hooting Watched moon crisscrossing A motor boat hauled at creek Dogs barked as fishermen moved

One of those days to savor in memory for a lifetime. I remember many in my youth like that. Today my days are much more routine and rather boring. Except for the Peregrine falcon that landed on my fence last week, and, again yesterday seeking out the many sparrows and doves that frequent our backyard. A truly non routine experience.
