Once at the pinnacle of success, the Great Britain took the world by storm
Colonialists and missionaries marched across boarders
They became masters of their craft and ruled over many nations
Today, the people of Britain have spoken
A vast number in England than in Scotland, Wales and Nothern Ireland
With voices ignorant and loud
Abandoning the humanity preached by their ancestors
Raving and ranting against immigration
Claiming that it has divided a nation
Scotland with it’s vast wealth seeking to depart from the United Kingdom
To rejoin the European Union
My beloved Britain!
Don’t you know that pride comes before a fall?
Kingdoms have risen and fallen since the beginning of times
I fear that the end of the United Kingdom and Great Britain could be nigh!
Once England forced Scotland, Wales and Ireland to be called, the United Kingdom. Perhaps your suggestion at the end of your poem would be that England and those other country identities, would become merely a part of, United Europe.
