Old Fee Story Time

Or…A Whale Of A Tale

Pull up a fish box for a chair and as I tell you friends a tale

About the time old Fee went out and took him a ride in a whale

Twas on a breezy afternoon when seas were running high

This is almost a true story (wink, wink) you know I hardly ever lie

One day old Fee took out his dory for to fish upon the broad Atlantic

Thought he’d catch him some Tommy Cod for supper, yes that would do the trick

He rowed out past Chebucto Head rounding near by Peggy’s Light

Old Fee had fished here many times from morning to dark of night

That fateful day was different, the angry sky turned an inky shade of blue

and with the fog on the horizon no land could old Fee view

Just one more cast says old Fee to his self and then I think I'd best head home

That was the last cast he took that day old Fee was not out there alone

So the story goes round Peggy’s Cove of a whale who dines on men

Some hereabouts say he’s lived forever, some say he’s Noah’s kin

No matter, I do digress, the story must go on 'bout poor old Fee

Would anyone care for some fish and brewis or at least a cupa tea

Well the shadow that the mammoth cast on old Fee and his dory

Bys, I tell you true , it filled his mind with thoughts of fearsome worry

Swallowed old Fee whole he did, though Fee still rowed inside its belly

I know you may find this hard to believe and even just a wee bit silly

Now twas dark inside that whale and Fee's screams were but an echo

Old Fee was tossed but held on tight as the waves washed his dory to and fro

Well poor old Fee thought he was dead and didn’t know what to do

Then an idea came and he pulled off his old boots, and even he said “poo”

The poor old whale started to gag and retch and soon he gasped for air

And when he did old Fee grabbed his oars and beat it out of there

Now if you don’t believe me just ask me and I’ll tell you how I know

My name is Fee and I’m the guy who made that poor whale go!
