Santa’s Pain

By: Santa Fee

Santa only shook his head and wondered…

What kind of world do we live in

Santa asked himself again

Too tired to hide his sadness

Faked a laugh to hide his pain

He asked this question every day

“What can Santa bring to you?”

The answer though he got back

Left Santa feeling kind of blue

“I want a real gun for Christmas Santa

so can you make my wish come true

I don’t want a pellet gun or bb rifle

Mr. C just get me a handgun shiny new!”

Santa sadly shook his weary head

Ran his fingers through his beard

Trying to find an honest answer

For in his heart he really cared

“I will not give you a handgun

for too many kids have already died

Moms and Dads spend Christmas alone

and way too many tears have been cried.”

“I’ll give to you a hug and a wish

that you will never have to see

one of your friends face down on the ground

with a smoking gun beside his knee!”

i believe you've confronted a sad realization within our world, it is a blessing it was you there to greet this soul and perhaps your compassion has worked its miracle within his heart...

Fee,

Too many movies, songs, and programs glorify guns and violence nowadays. A parent must be hard-pressed to keep their child free of it. I'm suddenly glad I don't have children; it's an enormous responsibility. This is a great write which shows your feeling of responsibility and your caring/love for impressionable children. Well done!

Sounds like you managed the situation well, Santa Fee. I don't know the gun laws in Canada, but were I come from, they are very tight. 'Young guns' don't usually exist. Living in America, I got used to people running around with weapons and we have our own stack at the house.
But kids? I understand the hunting thing I guess, but what's with a handgun? I pray for this young soul to be given much Love for Chrsitmas - instead of thoughts of death.
Merry Christmas to you, dear Fee. I know how much joy you deliver.

I wanted a real gun for Christmas one year, but not a handgun. I got it too, a shiny new blue steele .410 shotgun. No rabbit or squirril was safe after that. But a handgun? That is a bit scary.

And taking lives!

I was more intrigued than saddened by this captivating piece. It is difficult to tell as to what extent an upbringing devoid of real love and care, would affect a child's heart and behaviour. But surely, Santa Fee with the heart of gold has a way of handling things beautifully! Meaningful verses. Very much enjoyed. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

Be well,

Sheri

Darlin Felix, you are just the right heart and sound mind that this young lad could have confided his Christmas wishes too. Perhaps your kind words, hug and smile were a major "conversion" experience for him. Like you, I would have been reeling inside from the shock, but you are able to do so much good - both seen and unseen - in your capacity as "Good Ol Santa"... you can bring some form of tangible comfort in a hurting world - if only for a fleeting moment. Yet your heart will carry the burden of this memory forever. He will be always branded in your soul and, in that way, perhaps you are the one to pray blessing and protection on this young'un. You are doing so right here and now in this write. We stand alongside you in this. Keep doing the wonderful things that you do. You are in a place of both privilege -and pain, it seems. Bless you, Kate xx

I guess i'll cross that one off my list, this is the world we live in it is sad that a young one wanted a gun a real one probably from bullies sadly still parents can't teach their children to respect differences, or a step mom or dad caught in between ruining a parents happiness and abuse i can think of a million reasons why so he/she can be like the tuff kids on t.v. excellent write "sign of the times"

You were in the right place Sanat, to give this young boy advice. Perhaps because you are Santa and he believed enopugh in you to trust you...just perhaps he will respect your words and think about his request. I really hope so. Thanks for being there Fee.

Susan

Hey Cuz this is a great write but too sad a story and brings much pain to my heart to think an innocent child would make such a request. But it certainly tells the story of what our beautiful world has become because of the evil that is getting stronger as we wait and watch. Some of us try to fight it in the best way we know how, but few of us win.

Love you cuz
