This is beautiful. I have disliked the cold ever since falling through the ice as a teen. Yet there is an alluring beauty in your lines.
At least while I am sitting here warm in my fluffs.

This image rich poem reminds me of Hans Christian Anderson's "The Snow Queen". I was raised in Upper Michigan in my preteens, and it got so cold there, that we thought we were in the arctic. Thank you for sharing Felix. I felt the cold, and slept beneath the tall spruce, I saw the duck blind, and I saw the devil's smoke, when you exhaled. I saw you shiver from the icy cold waters of the North Atlantic ocean. I saw you on the Coast Guard vessel being given dry clothes and sip of rum. This is one that should be published in every magazine you can think of, it is that good.

Glad I never had to experience the cold that you must have faced. Winter in Germany was no cake walk but it pales in comparison.
