Our dreams are often the lifeline to save us from romantic suicide...

Poem Artwork

Angel Dream Lover

He may be shackled to a pillow

On that cold and lonely Queen sized bed

But he can still savor the memories

Of all the sweet things said

He’s midnight shape-shifting

Into his magic dreamer’s realm

Slipping into her dreams again tonight

Like a star in some silly Bogart film

He’s drifts off now to float on clouds

Where he can kiss her hungry lips

Embracing his sweet bride of hope

Touching with his wanting fingertips

He’s making love to her all over

The way love should be made

Sweat glistens united on naked skin

Indentions form where they' ve laid

Smiles contented, sated both in lust and love

To sleep with his earthbound Angel by his side

Until again the jarring scratchy radio blares

He knows again his dreams have lied

Yes, some dreams are worth having! Maybe there is that flash of disappointment when we wake, but there's also a hint of a smile for the short experience.

I feel as if I've stepped into someone else's dream ... the kind where you say "no ... I wasn't finished ... I don't want to wake up yet ... no!" Too often the dreams we dream can hurt when they don't become our reality. This is beautifully written, Fee. Hugs, Lizzie

sorry but I always have to laugh when I see these gorgeous bodies....we only have them about five minutes in a lifetime...(when we were 20...and then it's all downhill...hehe...but this poem is lovely...and thank goodness for dreamers... hugs, lindalaw

Don't look like she needs a lifeline to me... think she's rather enjoying that kinda shackling, Pops! Think I would... I guess some of us are dreamers and some live more readily in the here and now of the material world... I sure do know which I inhabit, though!! :)) Can't think which I more envy... that body or those wings... hmmm... prayer-time, I think...

I know I'm teasin, but it's only cos the fundaments of the poem are so striking and very real. Your premise is spot on. Our dreams are a blessing and a God-given rescue package when the going is all too tough. They can also teach us heaps and give enlightenment and vision... Bet YOU had your glasses on when you were constructing this page, didn't ya?! Better a scratchy radio than an angel who snores... Love this, Darlin, thank you. xx :))
