From the shore I saw the mast
Like a compass pointer to the stars
Red light on it’s starboard side
Green light beneath the planet Mars
Just an old single-mast sailboat
Gliding waves silently under sail
No ringing phone and no internet
Not even letters sent by slow mail
I wondered where she hailed from
And where she might be headed to
I wished that we were onboard her
Lover’s dream just right for two
In my head I heard Calypso music
It carried us on that boat to far away
You and I dancing naked on the deck
Where the gentle breezes seem to play
Yawning I closed my eyes a second
I opened them again the boat was gone
But that sweet dream of you and I
For so long lingered on and on…
