Summer walk on our waterfront
Light breeze from the sea
Walking past the musicians
Who’ll play a song for free
If I throw a quarter in the case
They’ll play one just for me
Small café along the water
Beer drips beads of sweat
A schooner sailing close by
Seashells hung in overhead net
A fog horn blows a hello
A haunting sound you’ll not forget
Lovers walk by holding hands
Children playing on a pirate ship
A cruise liner filled with travellers
Sailors gives her lines the slip
Babies yawning in their strollers
graying grandparents on a trip
A ferry ride across the harbour
Gentle waves lap comforting
The rise and fall of the waves
Seem so very, very relaxing
Moon is winking down on us
The stars on the water reflecting
This is my Halifax waterfront
It’s the place where lover’s go
Described in song and book
It’s alive with that ebb and flow
Someday I hope you’ll all come
This place is a never ending show…

Anna
