Santa Fee’s Summer

By: Santa Fee

Well went to the local Walmart

To buy a thing or two

Had to stop and think about it

I noticed something new

Halloween stuff was in stock

Summer was packed away

Haven’t even seen the sun but…

They’re sending it away

I got home with my parcels

Opened up my old car door

The tree beside my driveway

Didn’t look too green anymore

A flyer stuck in my mail box

The best snow-plowing rate

Man you know I love winter

But it’s the rushing that I hate

Last week we barely said goodbye

To the summer month of July

Yet it seems we’re skipping August

And it makes me want to cry…

I looked into my mirror though

See that I really can’t complain

I see Santa’s beard is full and white

So come on winter…I’m insane

HO HO HO

Much truth here, having once worked retail, it is all about merchandising and getting things out before the christmas stock comes in, but like yourself, I'm cool with it and all ready, lol- especially for the cold weather.

Most people get Spring fever, not Winter wildness, Fee. LOL. Lots of fun reading this one. I look forward to your Santa offerings. Hugs,

Well, if you're experiencing premature frustration, you may as well counter it with early festivity as well! :)) Lovely narrative, Darlin; could really see and feel this one... including that wonderful tickly beard.... all that fur looks inviting, too...LOL!! xx

LOL! This one is a hoot, Fee! You have voice what we all, at least her in the Maritimes, are feeling. What happened to summer? We're still waiting for it and Fall is coming. You made me giggle with this one...

Hugs,
Anna

That's the nice thing about living in the south, we get to hold onto summer almost until Thanksgiving. And even then some!

Fun poem, Fee, and sadly true. ~ Sara

Me? I'm holding out...waiting for the beauty of Autumn to view in pictures; we don't have a true Autumn in Texas - Summer lasts into early Oct.
"Halloween stuff was in stock...". Now THAT is insane, Fee! But, A HoHoHo, anyway...Enjoying your humor :o)

Santa,

They can't let a body rest, can they?!? Nope, gotta rush rush rush, buy, buy, buy - no wonder a lot of Grinches 'come Christmas. This year may be worse, what with the economy and the uncertain future ... still and all, I hope you can make Christmas dreams come true. I still believe -
