The Next Tide I Saw Essircym

Good morning me old mates and maties

Aye I see you came back to sit a spell

So ye a mind to hear more about Essircym

Yes there’s more to that story I can tell

Let me lit me pipe and think a spell

Where we finished off the last time

Oh yes, now I reckon I do remember

Essircym left taking something that was mine

Now ye see mermaids are truly special

When they mate for love with human kind

Tis’ twins they’ll bear and have to share

With the mate on land they left behind

So ‘twas a mere nine months later

On the same shore where we’d made love

I heard her sweet voice one more time

Like an angel calling me from above

Yes indeed, twas the love of me life the mermaid

My own charmin’ Essircym of the deep

My heart raced like it would sure explode

And my weary eyes almost began to weep

In the shallows of the tidal pool she lay

Relaxing in the eddies that do twirl

in her arms she held two tiny bundles

One a human baby boy the other a mermaid girl

Essircym smiled and passed the baby boy to me

sadly kissed farewell the new born child and I

Then with a brave smile and a gentle splash

She was gone before I could even breathe a sigh

Aye, now I see you gents raise your eyebrows,

Aye and I know you think it’s a tale I’m telling ye

But if you go down to the seashore some mornings

You may see a mermaid girl and her brother Fee…

What a grand tale! Now with Fee being a human child, should he hook up with another unrelated mermaid... would the child be? oh never mind if anyone should understand fiction, it would be me... but then the teller swears this is true! I await more! Your Florida friend, Kathy

Now, I would compare this ongoing story to the tales of "Thousand and one night" by the sea, and I am sure that any old sailor will concur that you are telling the truth, because we have seen the brat and it can't be but YOURS!!!!!!

love the piccy which complements your "adult" words so well to bring the threads of your story into balance. Adorable concepts here, Fee... I am sure I have a twin in the celestial realms somewhere, even though I feel myself to be a "water babe". You are great at conjuring the story-telling mode, with your invitation to sit awhile and listen: very compelling. A camp fire in your company must be a wonderful thing! :)) xx
