There’s a red barn in the pasture
Overlooking the Cow Bay Dyke
It’s heated but still a little drafty
So bring a blanket if you like
I’ll bring a radio for us to listen to
Chill red wine outside in the snow
We’ll climb the ladder to the hayloft
Watch the stars from the window
We’ll snuggle and let our hearts unravel
Share our dreams, hopes and fears
If your memories should awaken sadness
I’ll just kiss away your tears
We’ll giggle when we touch ticklish spots
Sigh because it feels so right
We’ll make the sweetest love of all
In the hayloft through the night
And…
if the morning sun should find us
In that old barn of white and red
Who could ask for anything better
Then a hayloft for a bed…

I just wrote one similar to this recently. Yours is much better, though. Romantic and cozy:) Hugs,

Very nice poem Felix. I like the words, the sentiment, and the rhyme.
Thanks!

But this beautiful poem brought me back to those shores of Nova Scotia, where jim and I painted enough memories into one day, to last me a lifetime. Though he died in 2001, his spirit has come to me in my sleep/dreams and held me until dawn. That sweet hay loft can exist in many places.
and the many other places- corn fields, up at the pines...
thanks for the wonderful photo & lovely verses Fee
