Don't you hate the neighbor's alarm clock on your day free...?
Don't you love that frozen feet trying to warm up against your warmth thighs?t

Poem Artwork

Morning came and asks if I was yet awake
from the outside of the window of my room
with that impertinent voice of one being up
to catch that early of all proverbial worms,
but mornings have no feathers, no can’t fly,
and soon they are chased by the afternoon,
which is a good time, like any other there,
to abandon that cozy and inviting warmth.

Mine worst enemy is that nerd of a man
that went about inventing the alarm clock,
an hysterical instrument torturing mornings
when the bed are whispering don’t go…
close your eyes and forget the tick-tacks
Morpheus wants your company a little more,
mystics odalisques pouring wine and honey,
close your eyes after smashing Tick-Tock.

I am a child of the night, music and letters
to another dimension will transport my soul,
smiling cheerful mornings are asking hard
from yours truly my best punch on that nose;
in my blissful dreams poking its schnauzer
the morning comes where it don’t belong,
when I am sleeping I don’t want no grief
and on any part of me a feet that’s cold ! ! !

Thanks for the laugh on this blustery day... can't seem to get my feet warm today. I, too, am not a happy person in the morning when I have been awakened too soon!

Get rid of the dang alarm clock! Let nature take its course.
By nature, I'm a morning person. I can get more done before noon than most folks get done in an entire day. BUT, there are days when sleep is necessary, and nobody or nything had better bother me -- or suffer the consequences [death]. lol

God bless you. Kathy

I know Dragula and his bats fly at night to avoid the sunlight, be careful you might get a vitamin D. defiency sleeping in that late, but agree there is something to be said about being awake when the sun goes down, and then burning the midnight oil, must be good for poetry, for it shows in yours ha,loved every morsel of it. Bless you Georg! Jasmin Horst

lol. Now what's wrong with people with cold feet warming them up on your thigh? I thought that's what bedmates were for have I been mistaken for all these year. As for the alarm clock--they are enough to give you nightmares. Great write. Liz

The morning comes, where it don’t belong;
Hey, we should make that, the Ancient Ed Song!

And the coldest feet in the world, gotta belong to Mean Tall Woman,
Thank God we got lots of warm furry critters around to warm mine up.
