A Spensarian Sonnet:

To muse this morning in a dewdrop daze
soothes and heavy reveries diffuse
like melting glitter makes the damp grass glaze
along lush corridors where wildlife cruise;
their trills and skitters transcend the day’s news.
There! Watch a woodland-bound cottontail balk
and stop to stare as we bump into views,
while charmed, I try to assuage with sweet talk.
In the end the white flag flies as I gawk
heeding the rabbit rule: None are benign!
Such have designs on the hare and the hawk,
whereas this predator prays prey be fine --
Stops! Curiosity's stronger than fear!
sensing it's safe, let's us share being near.
