I appreciate the Treasures of Heaven - I especially enjoy the rain, and it all starts with a single sound!

JournaL The Sound of Rain Outdoors at last! Anxious to spend an hour in my garden.. Only to find the soil had hardened. We need rain, I prayed again. Overcast and dim I began to weed and trim.. Until I realized much to my surprise all the leaves of the trees had turned downward! I smelled it then. The cleansing scent of new rain moving in! I heard it begin to fall. The slightest sound of pit-a-pat against my garden wall. I felt its touch. The burgeoning storm carried stinging beads that brushed.. My cheek like a wicked whisper in the howling wind! As the sky went black as a school chalkboard yet again. Menacing clouds had rushed in to form an army. Whilst the thunder of the battle re-sounded like cannons in my ears! The earth shook and the clouds burst just as I had feared. I ran for cover... A vast torrent amain sounding like great buckets of grain.. being dumped from Above. I was in love! The roof of the shed was being beaten like a bongo. I danced. To the uncertain tune of a wild and wet romance! I watched the eaves of the house send that rain a-gushing. Down down the gutter spouts .. As a river of rain poured down the drain and the gutters spewed it back out! Rain was streaming everywhere now. Car tires were loudly spinning out their protest on the sloping flooding street. Oh how I just wanted to wet my feet! It was truly quite a storm as I watched the frothing puddles form! I took my cue. I grabbed my hat and my rubber duck shoes and set back out to play.. Because oh, how I love, the sound of rain! (C) 5/01/17 Rhonda S Galizia International Copyright All Rights Reserved By Law.

I agree with Ron. This poem, I feel, is a bit of a departure for you but one that captures the situation beautifully and shows off the talent you have as a wonderful poet.
