Laughter… does not speak a strange language with phrasal idioms. It unites people. There're no dictionaries, thesauruses, user manuals, or learning required. It comes to us naturally, a universal language, like music.

Laughter… versatile, persuasive, compelling, like sunshine gushing from your insides and effervescing all around. It stimulates the inner child, quells fear, improves most everything, and always feels good right now.

Laughter… like a playground filled with bright-eyed energetic children, a warming sun that drives out the chill from a sad human face, the easiest way to connect with another, a better reaction to frustration than tears, and often the best kind of medicine.

Laughter… a funny jiggling that takes your insides jogging, augments your breathing, and ignites expectations. It opens the lungs, and ventilates the spirit. It’s like a suit of armor that protects one’s soul from the barbs of someone else’s lousy moods.

Laughter… possibly the most catching of all human feelings, has an ability to disarm loneliness, relieve tension in stressful times, heal emotional wounds, keep us from going bonkers, and it's always in need of an echo.

I don't laugh at everything funny. When I do, like you wrote, like crying, it's because I can't help it. That's the best kind of laughter to me. Just spontaneous.

We take in enough depressing stuff daily from the news so the brain NEEDS a balance before the end the day. Sadly their a very few new comics that truly make jokes without being extremely vulgar and downright raw. They can be funny at first but their words can be a blessing then a curse.
Red Skeleton had a gift of making us laugh without saying a word! When has that happened lately? Alan Slater is probably the few comics today who can pull off being hilariously funny without using extreme profanity. The old Jim Carey Pet Detective movies were very funny as were the Leslie Nelson secret agent movies. I still desire to watch more of them. The only TV series I can watch over several times and still be entertained are MONK, Jerry Steinfield and Cheers.
I was in a high School classroom yesterday doing an evaluation of an instructor. He asked the class, who had formed six groups to come up with a funny joke that is school appropriate. This was a competition about which team could get the most points. However, the students could not think of one joke. The class was DEAD silent for almost two minutes! That's pretty sad! During that time, I thought of three funny jokes but I was not allowed to participate, only observe. Can it be that teenage kids today cannot express humor without vulgarity? I hope not; but there you have it. Just one small example how our society is changing by being way too SERIOUS! Anyway, I rest my case!
Please let me know if you can think of any new movies or T.V. shows that have been able to pull off doing funny comedy without being downright distasteful and vulgar. I am looking forward to any responses.
