I received an email from a friend yesterday. It was a list of favorite sayings by the immortal Will Rogers. They are cute and comical but they are also extremely meaningful. I am going to try to use some of them in a rhyme. Wish me luck!

Will Rogers was a man of words that were comical and meaningful.
They were always anything but boring, hollow or dull.

Here is one of his sayings that if you tried it you would know.
“Never slap a man who’s chewing a wad of tobacco.”

“Never kick a cow chip on a hot day,” was another useful tip.
For one thing it will really smell and it might just make you slip.

Will had this advice for men who like to argue with their wife like jerks.
“There are two theories to arguing with a woman,” he says. “And neither of them works.”

This next piece of advice is good for both husband and wife.
“Never miss a good chance to shut up,” he says and that makes a more peaceful life.

Here is one of my favorites and it applies to us, every one.
“If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging,” Better yet, don’t start and you will have won.

Will had this advice about growing older and I find I like to hear it.
“Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.”

“Some people try to turn back their odometers,” he said as he smiled and waved.
“Not me, I want people to know “why” I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and some of the roads were not paved.
