The picture was taken by myself. It was a beautiful Maple tree in the cemetary down the street in my home town. I hope enjoy it and the poem it inspired.

Poem Artwork

She has changed her wardrobe dressing in colors of yellow, orange and ruby red.

Leaves from the trees float gently to earth in the cool night air to briskly make their bed.

Skies are blue with light white clouds floating high in stratosphere.

The sun shines brightly as the clouds glow and if you listen you can sure hear

The sound of the geese preparing themselves for their semi-annual flight.

If one looks to the east you may see an orange moon rising, preparing for the uncoming night.

This time of year many birds fly south avoiding the oncoming winter’s fury.

This is a fact that always been and continues to be their story.

Autumn is like a beautiful lady dressed in all her colorful best.

Her colors and her brisk demeanor are part of her wonderful zest.

I say, enjoy the day and her beauty and keep it all through the year.

This is a time when nature prepares herself for she knows winter has now come near.

Lew, I love this! The picture and the words underscore for me the very reason we are leaving California to live in Missouri. We want to appreciate all the seasons instead of our LA seasons: fire, earthquake, road rage, and riots. Eileen
