It is hot on this day in July
No rain in sight and the temperature is high.

I look out the window and search the blue sky

It’s muggy and hot on this sweltering day in July

The suns hot glare dehydrates plant life leaving it parched and dry

There has been no sign of rain for weeks leaving our grass faded and ready die

The hot summer breeze blows sluggishly with a sigh

The sunshine is smoldering burning through the clouds which float lazily by

But with no sign of reprieve for the land, parched and dry

I would surely do a Rain Dance if it would only open the sky

But alas I see no hope today and I give slow sigh

My wife did a Rain Dance, and now the thunderstorms are nonstop. But I hope you get some much needed rain soon.

I live in the desert and this made me thirsty! I know it's nasty back East, we have 105 degrees too (normal) but at least without the humidity! Glad I don't live in Maryland anymore. Well written.
