Halloween Costume

No fireworks? Have to make our own…

Poem Artwork

It's a hot night in July,
you and I both know it.
No place to go but out,
into the night of the poet.

The breeze in the trees,
is stilled to a stifle,
as we breathe the thick air,
and not tarry or trifle.

It wasn't planned,
but fireworks were banned,
it was much too hot,
and way too dry.

So we float on the stillness,
of a heat wave of desire,
just alone in the dark,
with the light of our own kind of fire.

On the grassy sleeve,
of a Midsummer's eve,
we roll in the dew,
of true believe.

Where the stars implode,
and we lighten our load,
to the tune of the
Star-Spangled Banner.

In the fireflies' light,
our love shines bright,
near the end of a,
firecracker night.

Ron, you have highlighted the fact that while fireworks add another dimension to aid with our celebration of Independence Day, they are by no means essential. For that matter, neither is July fourth. We can and should celebrate our independence as a nation each and every day as we go about doing the things which that independence permits us to do. A very belated Happy Fourth my dear friend. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael

Sounds pretty steamy to me and who needs fireworks when you can create them between you and your love.....Take care my friend. :)

Fireworks are not all they are cracked up to be...we got them all over up here, as we have had lots of rain of late...but the best are in my home town of Sea Isle City, NJ, at least for me, as they will be shot out off the beach over the ocean...no chance of fire there...just wish I still had a boat to go out watch them from the sea side rather than the land side...Happy 4th...e

Nice uniform. We are drier than the proverbial popcorn fart here and hot. I like your idea better. Patrick
