I wonder what the fuss is about some times but can't afford it anyway

loved your write but applaud those who've made it with the Gold as well

a poet is a poet no matter the cost
a tear is tear no matter the loss
write on dear friend despite the price
i savor every morsel, every slice
tears of laughter, tears in vain
silver or gold lined chain
makes no difference to wearer of the charm
freedom of speech has never caused me harm

Ron I always love your work, you are so masterful at rhyme and meter but I have to say, it's never a good thing to lump a group of people together by title, race, creed, etc and accuse each person in that group of being just alike and having the same negative qualities. No doubt there are abuses but not every gold member is guilty of them. I hope those who are guilty, will read this and perhaps stop taking advantage of a gold membership.

Ron.. I will forever uphold your right to say every single syllable you have written here.. I also actively work to avoid painting an entire group of people, as Eileen says, with a single brush.. AD is a large group of very diverse writers and the only definition I'd accept for what a writer is, is someone who writes. I'm glad you spoke your mind...I hope it helped. katy xox.

I'm with Eileen: I agree with some of your points. Some Gold members and even non-Gold members use HUGE fonts and HUGE graphics, that make their rants and poems extremely difficult to read, and slow to load. [You know who you are]. BIGGER font does NOT mean better poem. ;-) Now... Ronald, your poem here is a rant as well, albeit rather decently constructed. And, yes, some poets, Gold AND "non-Gold," do occasionally "rant" in the poetry section, even with items that are not poems. In short, you make some very good points here. -- Jeff (P.S. Hi Roland,
I would hate to be accused of putting a bad comment on a fellow authors page I mean it just is not done is it, not unless one is totally un-honest.
Well honesty has never really bothered me, so be a good Chap wipe this terrible coloured print of the page and give us something we can read, then I can lie through my teeth as to how good you are.

Hell Ron...to be a "gold" member could be quite difficult to read..........lol!!

I agree with some points, however I don't think you should tar all the gold members with the same brush. How do you get a lifetime membership. I asked about memberships and can't get an answer? Thanks Ronald. Excellent poem!
