A natural side effect to civilization is to grow away from nature. We do so at a disadvantage.
A web site that explores some of these "natural time in real time" ideas can be accessed at:

Here’s interesting tale: forces pulling to and fro,
Buoys us off scale, or drowns appetites, even libido.

As much as we can zoom, much as lens transmit,
Facts we tease and groom, and gravity defines limit.

Knowing solar lynchpin, spinning bodies, gravity exude,
Consider centers of spin, as universal galaxies collude.

Opposing forces stabilize, system of earth and sun,
Additive forces realize, on margin, power overrun.

All celestial spinners, produce gravity, of course,
Aggregated attraction centers, “centrifugal force.”

Gravitational matrix backdrop, pulls earth outward.
Equal as orbital prop, sun draws planet inward.

Solar gravity, matrix, bulges surface, adds to height,
Forty-six percent double base, moon varies its might.

Gravity and matrix force, moves daily ocean tide,
Lunar gravity, of course, bulges sea on that side,

Matrix force on opposite side, equal fluid rise,
Why, worldwide, two tides per day we apprise.

Earth, moon, sun align, full or new moon stage,
High rise brine, “spring tide,” (no vernal linkage).

Moon quarter, first or last, alignment’s out of tune,
Tide smaller, not vast, “neap tide” more picayune.

Gravity pulls at sea, but also lifts the land,
Rock, dirt, bush, tree, creeks, lakes and sand.

Animals increase their actions, feed and breed,
Change of conditions — cause norm to exceed.

Evidence of biological traction is cyclic high and low,
Moon sets mood for action, even menstrual flow.

A complex process, many elaborate productions,
Astrological press, granite inspired constructions,

Stonehenge comes to mind, and Aztec structures of rocks,
Focused light of astral kind, in natural celestial clocks,

Of cycles, solar, lunar, circadian, marking cycle and flow,
Through circle, angle, radian, tell fertile times to sow,

Celestial rhythmic balance — harmony for tribal soul —
Joins earth’s primitive dance, for harvest’s critical role.

Published horoscope ways, astrology tries to advance,
Are fraudulent overplays, quite lacking in performance.

Yet stream of truth prevails, zodiac alignment synchronies,
Even as fortune telling fails, it alerts to action harmonies,

In orbits of planets and stars, gravitational co-ops happen,
Sun, moon, Venus, and Mars, focus energy — doors open.

Natural clock we need, to find temporal sweet spots,
Over aimlessness intercede, earn timeliest of jackpots.

LELAND - as Karen said - Orchestrated - your poem is not unlike a symphony, well-balanced, double-rhymed, a well-timed theme, and at the same time, factual, informative, and challenging! SUPERB - would be my word for it!

Another word for you and your readers here to ponder, is one I learned while a young teenager in high School, I used to use it often to STUMP people when playing the game
"Hang The Man." You know, where someone guesses one letter at a time, and each WRONG answer, you draw a part of the STICK-MAN's body.

It is only 6 letters long: _ _ _ _ _ _ It has something to do with ASTRONOMY. The majority of people have never ever even HEARD the word before. And if you did hear me pronounce it, in its 3 syllables, you MIGHT guess the 3 consonants in it.

Unlike the TV show, you can NOT BUY any vowels, you guess, and if wrong, OOPS!
There goes another body part! I'll bet no one can get it with one DOZEN guesses!

Any Challengers? Tom.

P.S. Just recently saw Special on PBS, Rick Steves, visiting STONEHENGE, and other larger Rock Circles in British Isles. And my recent post FANTASTIC TUTORIAL, would really give you a VISUALIZATION of your FINE poem above! Check it out!

I absolutely agree with you, Leland; and I truly like your poem.
If only we could somehow get back in sync with nature's ebb and flow, but I doubt we ever will.

A grand production, and well thought-out verse, Leland! Nature's Clock will go on, even without "civilization" methinks.
Blessings and Appreciation ~~ Micke
