Yesterday, my future son-in law saw
A vision of a snake waiting in a snail’s shell

Poem Artwork

Yesterday, my future son-in law saw
A vision of a snake waiting in a snail’s shell
He said, the snake was ready to pounce
I guess he still doesn’t understand this jounce

A vision of a snake, O devious one
A vision of a snail, O slowly one
Both that crawl across the earth
conjoined together with my daughters mirth

Now, as her mother
You’d think I’d be quite, so concerned
But this is something he will slowly learn
for all his implements she will burn!

Unless, of course, he puts a stop to it!
And he will, but really he won’t
Cause women can make you see that you did
even though you really didn’t, so don’t!

A snake in a snail shell
getting ready to pounce...
Now I ask you son,
"Are you good with allowance?"

Timely advice wrapped up in poetic nicety. Dare I say we can insert a snake within the alluring shell of a poem. As long as it's one that talks - bad enough in the light of Eve's Eden and consequently man's downfall - and doesn't bite.
I hope your future son and law heeds the advice and picks up the signal that as a husband he can do anything his wife lets him. I am a veteran of 31 years on that score - think I've passed the audition.
