They crawl around, on the ground
Over counters, making no sound
But they leave a trail of
Little brown rice
Of what do I speak
I speak of mice
I dreamt of them
Crawling over me
I harbored great fear
Of these creatures, you see
I didn't even want to
Eat cereal of crispy rice
Because it reminded me
Of those frightening mice
But then I caught one
In a catch and release trap
I faced my one inch fear
And something in my head went snap
I still don't want them in my house
But I have no more nightmares
Of Mickey Mouse

It helps to write about your fear; maybe I ought to write about my fear of the dark or fear of getting mugged. It would probably be healing for me. Good job on this, Lynn; very well penned! Love the pic!

If you want to know the honest to God truth, mice undo me too, especially if I don't expect to see them. (None here, but I've seen 'em in other places.)
Confronting your fear sometimes helps in coping with them. My fear is storms. Does that mean I want to chase them? NOT ON YER LIFE. BUT! Am getting braver so I can at least look out my door and take pics of 'em. My poetry gave me that. :) Good on you, Lynn, congratulations! Isn't it f r e e i n g?
