Jesus loved over thirty 
(Two months to fourteen years)
Children at a shelter last night.
Dressed in green, red and white,
I was an elf and bigger than Santa
A policeman used his free time to
make balloon animals.  A four foot
lady from Shannon Church with a
great personality was a perfect
little clown,  who after the
face painter, she would make the
dragons glitter.  Brookland Church
sent lovely dancers who put smiles
on the faces, young and old.  I wonder
who had more fun, the writers alliance
 who sponsored the program
or the family shelter.

Santa stepped up to the tree, after
taking pictures with every child, to play
the Santa game.  Each child will get
a toy as long as you have been good
girls and boys.  After each child
received a promised toy the tree 
had enough toys for two more rounds.
Each child was blessed with three toys
and lots of clothes and food.  They all
rubbed their tummy tum tums.

One mother had taken her two children
to the church down the street and still
was back in time to receive toys,
clothes and food and take pictures
with Santa, whose beard and costume
 by then was falling apart.

I stood and watched the tree still filled
with gifts and thought of Jesus and the
miracles of the wine and the fish.  I pray
for them to know the same happiness
next Christmas.
