Thinking of You Comrades

November 11, 2009 Celebration A day of reckoning, of war. One as momentous as the other. Senseless loss of life and yes. I volunteered to give my life for my country and honor our Code of Conduct. Give up life to stay free. Someones are given the Spirit of Liberty to remain Free in America. Louisa A Dobbins (c) 2009

Excellent write, Louisa. I, too, volunteered both during Vietnam in 1970 and stayed in the service until 1981. I volunteered again for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and served at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. I was forced to resign after just a year in 2004 due to a medical condition and it still hurts that I cannot serve today. God bless you for your service, Louisa. Freedom isn't free.
