I think most know that Autumn is my favorite season
I love everything about it as my poem will show
So heres another in my series, there will be more...
~*~

Flamboyant fall is fast approaching
Time for bonfires,  football coaching
Back to school in the crisp cool air
New fashions for students to wear
For the foliage style it's dramatic flair

Poets can't do justice as they seek to describe
The glorious coloration that we get to imbibe
Cinnamon, sunlight yellow,burnished gold
Burnt orange, crimson red, some left untold
The purples , greens and in-betweens that
Make your eyes glow with what they've seen
A magnificent season, a feast for our eyes
Baking aroma,  Apple and Pumpkin pies

Then  the leaves of gold  and riotous red
Fall to the ground as if they were dead
But they mingle in soil through winter
To explode in spring spendour, so wondrous
The cycle of seasons continues to stun us

What could be more beautiful than autumn? Warm days of waning summer and nature dressed in her brightest colors. Crisp cool nights with starlit skies, shared by a cozy fire outside. The harvest always pumps up my energy and I love gathering all the fruits and veggies that fresh from the garden. I also love the comfort of "putting up" for the winter and gazing upon my pantry seeing food enough, that if I did not buy another thing, I could survive until spring. There is so much to look forward to as autumn approaches; harvest festivals, state fairs, Balloon Fiesta, Halloween and Thanksgiving. I delight to the aroma of pies, cookies and bread baking and a pot of soup simmering for hours warming the home, the soul and the body...I am ready for autumn and all the wonderful promise that comes with this season. Beautiful images, Eileen, very well written and one of my favorite songs, too.

Take care,

Sherry

I think more so than Spring that Autumn is our most beautiful and colorful season...plus giving us the sweet aromas that permeate as coolness sets it! You got it, Eileen!!

Eileen, wonderfully written verse to stimulate all the senses!

Not only is Autumn my favorite season, but it is also the birth season of myself and my husband, two of our daughters, one of our sons, a grandson, a brother, a sister-in-law, and a my step-dad!

And as you so vibrantly established.....The LORD provides us with an Annual Au Natural Party! I have tons of poems and songs, too, Sis!

Are you one among us Celebrants, too?
Love, Rhonda

Autumn is my favorite time of the year. My passions run wild and if I were an animal, shhhhhhh, it would be my mating season. Well done painting with vivid wordplay.

You make it my favorite season, too, Eileen, no, I guess I've always loved fall. 'Course, here in Texas, when the leaves turn brown, it's fall. But then again, with all this drought, they're already brown!! LOLOLOL Beautiful, seasonal celebration of God's perfect Creation.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Autumn is my favorite season in a bittersweet sort of way. It is true that it is difficult to find the right words to express the "personality" and beauty of autumn. Thank you for sharing this gift, Eileen. Love and peace to you,

Regis

I think you've done your favorite season quite marvelously here, Tiger Lily. I can almost feel the cool fall breeze and smell those scrumptious pies, and that's quite a picture!
