Poem Artwork

drinking my coffee to the dregs

then out for a walk, suddenly it arose

it wrapped itself around my legs

where it came from no one knows

blew my dress up over my face

it played around messing my hair

dared me to pick up my  pace

I tried to run gasping for air

panting and breathless ,I stopped

so easily the force knocked me down

 sitting there my confidence dropped

there is no way to fight this clown

it comes from almighty's bag of tricks

has too many faces, and uses them all

does Sir Wind overpower us for kicks?

he can make even the mightiest fall

etw-2007

Wrote this in April when Santa Ana
winds were blowing me away;-)

LOL, Eileen,

Santa Anas are bad, but try Texas twisters: they're worse! LOL Enjoyed this self-depreciating humor; well done!

Oh this brings back memories of days of YORE, as a young girl just starting out at work in the City, hanging on to a pole outside a shop, to avoid being blown clean down the street, umbrella already inside out LOL. AH thanks for the trip down memory lane, and be safe when these winds hit from outa nowhere.
As always, inspiring Eileen.
Hugs

A great write, happened to me the other day as I left the grocery store...shopping cart went one way, left me standing and my skirt tail went the other way! From no where as you say!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Love how nature surprises us
when we least expected
Here in Texas you never know
What the water is going to bring
Gusting winds are very popular and they
Are strong and powerful it will blow you away my friend
Your words captured a perfect windy day!
Love Peace and Happiness to you my friend...Morning Star

That's why we left...Such a beautiful area, awaiting natures forces, but the peeps in such areas have the same grit as the founders. I admire anyone who can relax on a fault line. But that is the Yanky never say die grit...

All the power to you...

E.T., the power of the wind is mighty and forceful! I thought this had a lot of good humor in it; eventhough, you had to struggle. The images portrayed were marvelous and I could just see the wind winding up your legs & your skirt flying high...your voice brought a sense of frustration & aggravation. I enjoyed this a lot!
