The night glows
With thousands of lights
Through the creation
Of cosmic delights
Natures kaleidoscope
Of earthly wonders
Ever evolving in
Rainfall and thunder
Wild landscape
Untouched by humanity
Tempestuous winds
Testing our sanity
Emotions ensnared
In earths ecosphere
One can truly imagine
Dinasaurs here
Lightning that
Touches off forest fires
Animals seek water
To escape the pyre
Storms and floods
That come up in a flash
Volcanic eruptions
Spewing lava and ash
Majestic mountains
Disappear into the sea
While polar icebergs
Sail past most ghostly
It is ever happening
To mother earth
Always a new age
About to give birth

Mother truly seems to be in a violent mood these days, and I fear more draught, more devastating wildfires, and even more violent storms are now our future.
...images so wonderfully expressed...can only hope to hold the tiniest sliver of Mother Earth's ash...so that we might once more instead...be able to rekindle her flame in the heart...where it once so sacred...began.

This poem is as beautifully written as it is sad, Eileen ... I can comprehend and accept the natural disasters, but the fires that are deliberately set are inexcusable ... We are experiencing the effects of the volcano as the vog hovers over the Hawaiian Chain. Stay safe, Eileen ... Love - Tee
we've gone through this twice in the last five years. Last Sunday Michele and me hiked one of the paths up in the Cuyamacas that was totally devastated. It was heart-breaking. Even after five years it is still a wasteland of burned out trees that resemble the veins of corpses and hundreds of square miles of shoulder high weeds.
And the cycle continues, birth, life, death ... superb write!
