Poem Artwork

The new year stretches before me
Ripe with hope and promise.
I see the possibility of
Dreams coming true and
The probability of times
Spent with friends,
Of endless days in the sun, and
Of sensual nights
In the arms
Of my beloved.
Spring will arrive
Heralding Nature's rebirth,
Then summer will bring
Romps on the beach
Or lazing on a river.
The earth will grow drowsy,
Drunk on a brilliant display
Of color,
Before going to sleep
And dreaming
Of holidays filled with
The happy glow
Of celebration.
Between it all
Will be moments of elation
And moments of tears,
But such is the passage
Of a year
Fully lived.

You certainly brings warm tidings about this holiday season and a prediction that I hope we all share in the coming year. Thanks for being so optimistic. The way we all should be.
