She Appears So Innocent

Poem Artwork

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gardenia Breezes
By La Belle Rouge
her pristine beauty draped in white
a bridal gown of soft velvet petals
so pure and demure she appears
her scent concocted in heaven
designer fragrance worn by angels
and yet
so sensually inviting, invigorating
her warm breath assailing senses
with the power of undiluted lust
capturing the thoughts with pictures
of hoop skirts and indigo Southern nights
with
midnights on verandas where decorum
gives way to private dances of love
closed-doored, candlelit bedchambers
with fourposter islands of paradise
bathed in gardenia kisses on the breeze
L o v e . gardenias, l o v e this poem ! AND you found the perfect
illustration. Our yard is shaded by hardwoods {can't bear to part with a single one}, so we get lots of beautiful leaves and three
gardenias in a good year. I can't pass them without pausing to
take in their beauty. That w o n d e r f u l smell! T h a n k.
My FAVOURITE flower... made even more precious by your sumptuous descriptions of her. Her fragrance is totally intoxicating and I love the notions of her crinoline skirts... makes me long for long frilly pantaloons and a surrey with a fringe on top! :)) Gorgeous, Belle. TY Kate xx
