today a warm breeze blows through my hair
and bright sunrays warm my winter white skin
a robin sits among tiny red fruit on the cherry tree
today I thought about many other rare Springs
that have soothed my senses and made promises
of Summer lurking just around the corner of time
how quickly a life goes by, breathe in, breathe out
remembering white wildflowers woven into a crown
and wide eyed enchantment at new baby bunnies
playing together near you in the fragrant meadow
today puppies run, jump and nibble my bare toes
they look at me as though I’m their whole world
the eagle flies high above the towering green trees
someday I’ll fly away with her on a gentle breeze
but for now, it’s balmy springtime here in Virginia
and for the first time in a very long time, I’m happy
to watch the natural miracles of new life unfolding
thankful to smell the flowers and new mown grass
and to hear the call of a dove, I’m happy to be alive
Being here Belle and being able to observe and enjoy the true beauty and blessings. It is always more than enough to overwhelm the human spirit. Perspective and importance are to be gained when we permit ourselves to commune with the immense complexities of the simple things. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael
Ah, the simple beauty of spring and the enjoyment of it, out doors. There is no better prescription for happiness and no better way to spend the day knowing that, as time goes by, the number of springs we have is diminished. Thanks for the enjoyment.
