how gracefully glide the winter swans
over the wave-less ice-edged lake
in a world where their presence belongs
such a tranquil picture they make
soft snow falls silently to the earth
and drifts high against lake banks
beguiling beauty is their worth
for winter swans we should give thanks
feathered pristine purity rivals the snow
to brighten the gray of a winter's day
cloudy sky above and dark water below
would bid the winter swans to stay
a portrait of devotion, they mate for life
serenity their norm, not known for strife
Nature graces our lives spiritually and artfully with breathtaking flora and fauna. Your snow swans are proof of why we should give safe harbor to all. Jon Michael

Swans represent such gracefulness of nature and your
poetry gives them justice, Belle.
What a beautiful combination for a poem! Soft white snow matching soft white swan down and their peaceful disposition. Lovely to see and lovely to read.
Swans always are majestic and beautiful from a distance. From a distance they seem like little carved vessels ready for the winter. You make a beautiful picture of it all. Well written and phrased. A good read. You know they have sharp teeth? I was foolish enough to get near one once. Bob
Majestic wintery thoughts. It's been unseasonably warm here. I think we're ready for the scenes you've aptly portrayed above. Have a happy New Year, Belle.
