I hestitated to post this, but this is what I've been going through. I am not asking for help, the only thing I need is your prayers. Bless you, and thank you!

Poem Artwork

.....Rent is staring me dead in the
face, not caring that
I don't have the money to pay
it or the light bill;
and there is the loan I took out,
hoping I would get
ahead but falling two steps back,
and getting sick is
out of the question, taking a
toll I can't afford
and will take weeks to recover
from...and the Christmas
season's approaching faster than
I want it to.  It's
a never ending cycle, this
thing called poverty,
a demon from the pits of hell
that has its hands 'round
my neck, squeezing tighter...tighter,
wanting my last breath,
a breath I can't afford to give.

(c) 2005, Karla Dorman.

(((Karla)))

O, this cries out; I too feel the pain of poverty, and it's a place I'd much rather be! But it sure hasn't quelched your creative spirit; may your writing soon bring you money and fame! I believe in you, and so do many people! Don't give up, just keep on praying and hoping (and writing!!)!

(((HUGS))) and much love (and prayers), your twin, Karen Lynn. :( >tears <

powerful, heartfelt poetry!

The money go round. The saying money never brings happiness is only told by the rich..

You got a brain..Use it. Get published. You know you can..

But I am now seeing the two sides of America. Haves and have nots.
No in between.

On radio 4 today they were talking about the same thing..

I've been there Karla. "There" is sitting on a lonely street curb off the sidewalk eating fruit cocktail out of the can because I had nothing else. And as Jerry says, things will get better. Sometimes we have to forego a few things to make it through and I know it takes money to make money, but what might pull you through is making some homespun christmas gifts from a little bit of nothing. String some beads in every color of the rainbow and your pot of gold will appear. Monopoly money this time of the year is also tight. A little humor never hurts. Blessed be.

Karla I wish I could help, but retired on a disability leaves me no better off than you. However, I used to live high when I had my business etc, and it doesn't bother me now that I no longer can, because I don't much care about material things. Just so long as I can meet my own needs I'm thankful.I know it isn't easy, but sometimes we have to forget holidays, and wants. I hope you can find contentment with your talents and within yourself and your spirit Kartla, that truly is the important thing. I'll keep you in prayer.

Love,
Eileen

I'm right there with you Karla watching the mail, dreading phone calls. Everytime I make a little headway, I look up and the ex is dragging me back to court (not kidding, have a date with court next Friday...he's fighting the state over his arrears) or the car is coughing up something that spells money, but God makes a way. You are going to make it and so am I. We are both strong women. Loving you much. Great poem. ~~Nordette

Finding a way to get by is sometimes more than we can comprehend. I have learned that I must live my life "cash and carry" because even the smallest loan or balance on a credit card may come back to haunt me. Being single and being a woman who's career is in a "woman's" job leaves little for anything but the basics and a constant fear hovers over us "what if I should get sick or lose my job"? Most of the "women's" jobs don't have a decent retirement program, unfortunately. I hope things get better for you, Karla.
Take care,
Sherry

It's amazing how some of the most gifted and giving souls have to endure some of the more torturous trials of day to day living. What I most appreciate about A NEVER ENDING CYCLE is how the despair of the poet transforms itself into art, and hopefuly by doing so inspires the writer with creative solutions, spiritual fortitude, and yes, blessings of increased prosperity.

Oh, I wish I had the means to help, but me and social security barely make it. Things will get better. They always do, Karla, just don't lose yourself inside all this to where you can't think straight.
