Two tornadoes hit portions of Fort Worth, Texas, on April 13th; two people were killed.
Watching the extended media coverage of the storm inspired this write.
It didn't get bad here, but the supercell storm that spawned the twisters was too close for comfort ... all of North Central Texas was under a high risk for severe weather.

... high risk: tornadoes write tales of terror, stories of devastation,
poems of sadness as they tear across the land -- all are affected
as they read the storm of words left behind as a painful reminder
of what it was like to ride the wind, armed with a camera and pen.
There are situations where our only line of defense is writing about it -- storms seem to fit into that category and you do these so well, Karla. Very well done.

Ah yes Karla you are The Storm Spinner, and this 5-7-5 Format in very nicely done indeed! I am sitting here in the middle of a N'oreaster with some pounding hard driving rain, high winds and bitter temps BUT am glad no twisters are being reported! Glad to see you and read your work again!

This makes me think how sometimes the media can be greedy for disaster coverage and often get too close for comfort. People's lives and possesions have been literally blown apart and before you know it, the media are there like vultures. Bless you and stay strong.
Excellent my friend..glad you are okay, this weather thing has been a real roller coaster around the nation, I think that the Lord might be trying to get our attention...maybe He is sending the message that He is still in control??? Nevertheless great write dear friend!

Awesome picture. Small and rare in South Carolina, I drove across town the day that seven touched down near Myrtle Beach. I was glad I was in a old heavy duty van when I saw two spirals forming and come down on either sides of the high way. Far enough away that I got passed before they made it to the ground. I had friends who weren't so lucky. A friend driving through the air base ran and got far enough away from her little jeep before it displaced it down the road.
If small ones can do what they did there, I could not think what it would be like to see that cloud coming down. Lady J
Glad we made it through the stormy period with no problems, but you are right: it WAS a bit too close for comfort!! YIKES! I will be glad when the stormy season is over; I have HAD it with bad weather already...and NO BASEEMENTS or SHELTERS to go to! CRAZY! We're sittin' ducks, that's what we are: sitting ducks! NOT good!! You capture the energy of the storm very well in this spellbinding write; very well done! BRAVA!
