Two poems I'd written as blogs. Didn't want to sully the Den with political poop, especially at this time of year, but hang it all, getting tired of getting ramrodded.
At 1:00 a.m. E.S.T, December 21, 2009, the U.S. Senate voted for closure on Obama's Universal Health Care plan. The final vote was 58 Democrats and two Independents AYE, 40 Republicans NAY.
They didn't ask the American people what WE wanted ...

Government by, for the people ---
not when they go ahead, do what
they were planning, anydamnway.
(They won't know. Or care.) We don't need
their approval: got it when they
voted us in. We'll take g o o d care
of them (like we do Veterans,
right?) Our hands in their pockets; our
lies in their ear. They will obey
like the slaves they are: they have no
choice. If they disagree, off with
their heads, or we'll just pull the plug:
same difference. We know what's best.
We're the government. We're their friends.

'The Death of Liberty' (12/21)
At 1:00 a.m., E.S.T. Monday morning,
Liberty died. She'd been ill for
quite some time. We just didn't
know how bad. It looked like she
might have some fight left in her,
but late last night, things took
a turn for the worse. Despite
prayer and all-night vigils, she
slipped into a coma. On a 60/40
vote, she took her last breath ---
the first to die under Universal
Health Care. Freedom next to go. ...

True words, Karla. I often wonder how people can walk around with blinders over their eyes--missing what's right in front of them. This makes me think that this is meant to be and the end times are upon us. Our most powerful weapon during these times is prayer--to uplift the best of us and keep the worst from happening. God help us all. I have even become careful about what I write on the internet because "big brother" is already everywhere.
I am not really up on your bills but I do read and hear more and more discontent in the writes here on the den, I hope the people will find the voice of their country again and yell out loud for change.

The Supreme Court just upheld a lower court ruling that torture is legal and the President can declare anyone an "enemy combatant" stripping them of due process and basic rights. We are now back to pre-Magna Carta. 700 years of precedent just legislated away by the flick of a pen. Lst week we signed onto the climate treaty effectively killing the Constitution, which is why they can now pass death-care, which is unconstitutional because there is, in fact, no Constitution left! So there we have it! The hostile take-over, executed with military precision, is now complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are those of us who are banded together to take back our human rights, like liberty, freedom, and to support the constitution. But it is a ground swell. Anyhow a very good thought provoking piece.
it seems that, even though we are a nation of the people, the people have lost their desire to band together for what we truly need--folks are just too busy living to get involved in making the changes needed. We the people are powerful if we could get together on these issues--it all scares me very much-a good write
