I was recently at a book signing for Wally Lamb's newest book "I'll Fly Away" which deals with women in prison, here in Connecticut. There is a passage that calls abused women, broken dolls...the inspiration for this poem....

"Broken Dolls" by Amber "V" Moonstone 3/10/08 Broken Dreams Broken promises Broken windows Broken love Broken dolls.... In the midst of violence broken dreams, result from broken promises. Broken Love begins with broken windows to the heart and then there are the broken dolls. Those broken women lost within those broken promises, staring out those broken windows knowing only broken dreams of love. Somewhere between evening and morning those broken promises became a broken heart. Slipping into the world of broken dreams accepting what it all means and living as a broken doll. Is there a glue that can repair all of those broken promises, all of those broken dreams or a word that can repair all OF THOSE BROKEN DOLLS !! Author's notes: There is still so much domestic violence in this country..especially against women. I dedicate this poem, to all those broken dolls and send healing waves of love, peace, and light to them, Amber "V" Moonstone

'Broken dolls' powerful words that convey this feeling so well. The glue that they need - self esteem and strength to move out and on. No one needs to be a broken doll.

broken arms, broken legs, bruised broken bodies, with broken hurting hearts! I hear ya'- Most IMPORTANT write Viv!
Speak it LOUD and CLEAR! I'm glad this book is out, I will be looking it up on Amazon, where I get my book! I watch RAW PRIsON Movies/Shows, and this is spoken of!

Hello "V",

I am a repaired "Broken Doll",
from broken hand, cheek, leg, cervical injuries, concusions, contusions of all sorts & more inner damage (maybe that is how my back fracture happened) I was at the ER back in 1988 & the Doctor seeing me for a cervical injury (I couldn't talk or swallow) he asked me if I Loved My Duaghters....how odd I thought to myself & nodded. The doc said he didn't believe it because I was on my way to being brought to the hospital in a body bag. WOW & Bam!! I never seen that doc again!!

Although broken dolls, each has been given a choice. Some unfortunately never come to understand they can be free from their brokeness. And I might ad, there are equally as many broken men in the same boat, swamped by broken dreams and promises that have left them utterly destroyed. You have really described the deep emotional pain lying beneath the trauma of "Broken Dolls". There truly is a lot of violence out there, in there, around there, everywhere we look--yet, we may not always see it because it will be someone's skeleton hidden deeply in their closet. gosh,,I pray for each abused doll that they can get the resources to get out,, It is Not tolerable,, and for a child being abused,, I can not even come up with words,,It Pains me so!

to THE AUTHORITIES or they think their man will change with his conning promises, and empty promises, after a beating he buys her flowers and begs for forgiveness, until the next beating,
and so on, and so on.

The miracle glue to your question is to have the abusers "Arrested"
there is no other remedy.
