Were we dolphins once?
Did we glide through glassy waters
too deep to fathom?
Did we turn to speed heav’nward, watch
laughter bubble up
as our joyful hearts overflowed
with love, abundance?
Were we dolphins once?
Did we dive, surface, dive again?
Were we held without
invention of words, together
in perfect union,
by sacred beauty that spoke of
who we really were?
My soul believes; I
remember you. I long to know
love again, frolic
in wide ocean, because it's where
we're meant to be. Come,
swim, submerge, emerge to shatter
earthly barriers.
