What's the use telling anyone

when they've already condemned you in their hearts

What's the use saying anything

When they've already pronounced your sentence

Even those that hide snakes in their mouths

and skeletons in their closets have joined in her mockery

just because no one has seen what they too hide in the dark

Now the whole world jeers and he leads the crowd

the man who once swore on his love and his word

the man who swore on everything that's true

the man  who swore to stand by her and fight the world

She now watches as he parades his true colors

and in a moment of realization

the noise of the crowd starts to fade

as she begins to see how close the devil came

to stealing her soul and how close she came to letting it happen.
