The snow always reminds me...of some mishaps...this was but one of them.

I Didn’t Stay and Linger

Winter’s coming soon I’m not ready nor am I prepared.

I love the snow but okay, when driving in it I’m scared.

All the slippin and the slidin scares me half to death.

My heart starts pounding violently and I lose my breath.

After cleaning all the windshields, the mirrors & every other part.

And when I finally do get in the car, it decides it doesn’t want to start.

I’m not givin up, it’s not in my DNA, I’ll get it started, if it takes all day.

I don’t know the meaning of the word quit, it isn’t in my extensive resume.

FINALLY, she decided to start and I began puttin down the icy street.

Shivering and Skaken like a bowl of jello, right down to my icy feet.

Trying to be careful just going slow enough so I don’t slip and slide.

Until some old fool zoomed up my tail, and he was fit to be tide.

I stopped and I sat there for awhile just waving and smiling sweet.

That made him even angrier for we’re not even off our street.

I blew a kiss as he zoomed past me and I continued on my way.

He collided with a telephone pole, blaming me for his dreadful day.

I waved to him as I passed by; he just put up his middle finger.

Now that wasn’t a bit nice of him, so I didn’t stay and linger.

If I would have been a quitter, I would have quit right then and there.

But I just kept on puttin and a sputtin ‘cause I had an appointment for my hair.

The things we ladies encounter and the treacherous things we do to look Beautiful!
Smiling and waving at an irate person makes em madder. You handled yourself as a lady! Good thing your Doc Bonnie persona was not driving at the time, their name would have been ED!

I absolutely love this very funny story Bonnie May -- you have written it well -- there is a laugh a line here -- the road rage you related perfectly -- and as for that little birdie he threw you, shame on him -- I hope you let him know that you thought he was number one also? -- peace and love to my friend -- JMW

Wow! Glad you made it through the wreck; just be careful on that ice and snow! (Worse to walk on it; a few years back, I was walking home from eating out [breakfast] at the local restaurant, and I made it without falling--that was, until we got to the apartment directly behind ours. One minute I was up; the next, flat on my back, feet and crutches pointing skyward! Wha' happened?? I fall down and go *BOOM*!! Next day I was sooo sore and stiff, I felt like the Tin Man!! LOL)

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Other than being a talented writer and poet, you are a great story teller.First I want to say that I love the snow as well, but when the snow melts on the road,it can be very dangerous when driving a car.I am happy that you are doing ok.When you mentioned that he crashed into a telphone poll and blame you for his dreadful day, maybe he should look in the mirror and realize that he's the one to blame.I'll bet he doesn't even look in the mirror because he is probably afraid that his looks will crack it into pieces lol.I enjoy the ending.take care

Which one of my two nasty Ed brothers gave you 'the finger?' If you tell me, I'll tell Ma, and they'll get a 'whuppin!'

I got once one of those that as I was driving at 60mph he thought I was slowing him down, so, he overtook me, turned side wides and gave me his righ hand erected middle finger with a sneer all over his face, saddly he was so occupied with me he didn't saw the Mac semitrailer, then was when I decided to go 75mph (see nothing!). Bye bye sucker!

Hahaha!!! That'll learn him!!! I like winter and the snow, but I don't like it on the road, because many people don't know how to drive in the snow.

There, but for the Grace of God ... wow. Driving on ice and snow (especially ice) is tricky. Got to be careful! Glad you survived to tell the story, Bonnie, well done.
